Coach Avery has been playing and coaching volleyball for over 12 years. He played 4 years of high school and club prior to receiving a scholarship to play at St. Ambrose University. After graduating in 2021 he went on to graduate school where he earned a Master of Science degree in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology from Barry University in 2023.

Using this degree Avery went on to coach at the NCAA division 1 level for St. Louis University. After a brief stint here, he returned to Barry to help create a men’s volleyball program as well as assist with the women’s indoor and women’s beach volleyball teams.

Throughout his time as a collegiate coach, he also coached for Miami Wave Volleyball club. At this club he coached competitive travel teams, conducted camps/clinics, and offered private training for both physical and mental skills.

In his career, Coach Avery has fostered the development of thousands of athletes of all demographics. He has created great relationships with families through his coaching and has a long list of references who can speak to his credibility and professionalism. Coach Avery loves the sport of volleyball and is always eager to share that love with whoever he comes across.
