Ways to play

NIVA 2025-2026 REGISTRATION

GIRLS REC LEAGUE

This is our non-travel division for girls in 3rd–12th grade.  This is a developmental league and is open to beginners to advanced skill levels.  There are many first time players as well as girls with experience that aren't ready to make the commitment to a travel schedule.

  • Winter Season
    • October-March
      • Each feeder sets their own days/times for tryouts and practices but most start end of October-November
    • Matches are played at the Mishawaka Fieldhouse:
      • January 11th
      • January 25th
      • February 8th
      • February 15
      • February 22
      • March 14-15th
        • 2 day Championship event with pool play Saturday and bracket play Sunday

FEEDER TEAMS

This division of NIVA is for 3rd-8th grade players in rec.  Players play for the feeder program where they go to school...they start to train and learn from the coaches at the school they will "feed" into.  These teams practice 1-2x a week at their local school gyms.

  • Feeder Programs for the 25-26 season
    • Bremen, Central Noble, Concord, East Noble, ECA, Elkhart, Fairfield, Goshen, Independent, Jimtown, John Glenn, LaVille, Northridge, Northwood, Warsaw, Wawasee, West Noble, Westview, NIVA South, NIVA East
      • The independent feeder is the "house" rec league for players that don't have their own school feeder - it is open to anyone from any school and we do not make any cuts! Teams practice at the Mishawaka Fieldhouse.
      • NIVA South is for players that would prefer to practice out of the Plymouth AutoPark Sports Complex
      • NIVA East is for players that would prefer to practice out of our Warsaw location.

HIGH SCHOOL REC

This division is for 9th-12th grade girls.  This is a non-travel, developmental league for girls that want to play in the off season but cannot commit to a travel team.  We have beginners to more advanced players - teams are picked by skill and scheduled matches against similar level teams.  This allows someone new to volleyball to grow and learn on a team at their pace.  Players do not have to play on a high school roster - this is open to any players.  All high school rec teams practice and play at the Mishawaka Fieldhouse (not at their local school!)
*We do have high school rec teams at our NIVA East and NIVA South locations in addition to our main high school rec program out of MFH.

BOYS REC LEAGUE

 

This is our non-travel division for boys in 3rd-12th grade. Rec league is for beginners to interemediate level players that do not want to commit to a travel team.

Information about rec teams:

  • Fall Season
    • Boys volleyball is now a sanctioned sport in Indiana that plays in the spring.
    • Our boys have always played with our girls in our winter rec league but we want to build this division and have them play their own schedule in the fall
      • boys will still be allowed to play the winter season on coed teams
  • Teams practice 1-2x a week
  • Game schedule:
    • September 15th
    • September 22nd
    • September 29th
    • October 6th
    • October 13th
    • October 20th
    • October 27th
  • All teams practice and play at the Mishawaka Fieldhouse

girls travel teams

This division of NIVA is for the elite players in the area looking for a more intense and competitive club experience.

Travel teams practice out of the Mishawaka Fieldhouse.

We have multiple levels of travel teams:

National Teams
  • Colors: Purple, Black, Onyx
    • Highest level teams with the most competitive and extensive travel schedule
      • 12-15 events (depending on age) from January-June/July
    • Players on National teams are REQUIRED to go to Nationals
      • 12U-17U AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL
      • 15U-17U USAV Nationals in Indianapolis, IN
      • 18U USAV Nationals in Reno, NV
    • teams practice 2-3x a week from December-June
      • modified schedule over winter break and off April 3-12, 2025
Select Teams
  • Colors: White, Grey
    • Highest level teams with the most competitive schedule
      • 8-9 events from January-March
    • teams practice 2-3x a week from December-March
Elite Teams
  • Colors: Silver, Jade, Ruby
    • High level teams with a competitive travel schedule
      • 8 events from January-March
    • Teams practice 2-3x a week from December-March
Regional Teams
  • Colors: Pink, Blue
    • Hybrid teams for players wanting a more competitive schedule than rec but not the full travel schedule
      • 7 events from January-March
    • Teams practice 1-2x a week from December-March

BOYS TRAVEL TEAMS

This division is for boys in 4th-12th grade that are looking for a more intense and competitive club schedule.

  • Fall-Winter Season
    • Boys volleyball is now a sanctioned sport in Indiana that plays in the spring so our new fall/winter schedule aligns with standard practice in boys' club.
    • Tryouts in August
    • Practices start in September
    • Tournaments will run from October-February
  • 12U-18U age teams
  • All teams practice and play at the Mishawaka Fieldhouse
