Girls Rec has 2 divisions

Feeder Teams
- Players in 3rd-8th grade
- Girls play for the feeder program of the high school they will eventually "feed" into
  - Each feeder is run by a coach in the system
- Teams practice 1-2x a week at your local schools
- Teams play in our 6 power league weekends at MFH from January-March
- If your school system does not have its own feeder, we have 3 OPEN feeders for any player from any school
  - Independent Feeder
    - practice out of the Mishawaka Fieldhouse
    - teams are made from girls from Penn, South Bend, ICCL, private schools, Edwardsburg, etc...any school that doesn't have their own
  - NIVA South
    - run out of the Plymouth AutoPark Zone for those that find a south location more convenient for practices
  - NIVA East
    - run out of a Warsaw location (TBA) for those that find a eastern location more convenient for practices
High School Rec
- 9th-12th grade players
  - high school aged players play in our house league - you are no longer a part of your school's feeder

Attend your program parent information night
- High School Rec
  - October 8th 6:00-7:00pm
    - court 10 bleachers at Mishawaka Fieldhouse (MFH) or a virtual link will be posted closer to the date
- Each feeder chooses their own date/time
  - once each feeder head (high school coach usually) confirms their meeting information, it will be posted on each individual feeder page
  - most meetings take place October-November
Attend tryouts
*if applicable - some feeders do not hold tryouts*
- High School Rec
  - 2 days of tryouts
    - November 16th
    - November 19th
- Each feeder sets their own tryout date/time
  - Tryout information will be posted on each individual feeder page
    - Most tryouts take place late October-December

Where/when do teams practice?

High School Rec and the Independent Feeder teams practice at the Mishawaka Fieldhouse.

NIVA South teams practice at the Plymouth AutoPark Sports Complex.

NIVA East teams practice at a location TBD in Warsaw, IN.

All other feeders use their local school gyms for practice locations.

Where/when do teams play?

All girls rec teams from ALL feeders, NIVA South, NIVA East and High School Rec play tournaments at the Mishawaka Fieldhouse (6155 Veterans Parkway, Mishawaka, IN)

Teams will mostly play in 3 team pools

play 2 matches and ref 1
if numbers don't allow all 3 team pools, teams should also be prepared to take a turn in 4, 5 or 6 team pools when needed

Teams will have the option to choose their playing waves for the whole season or change each week based on team/coach needs

AM wave times: 8:00-11:30am start time
PM wave times: 12:00-6:00pm start time

Tournament schedule are posted the Wednesday before each event. You will know your wave timeframe and dates you play at the start of the season (minus any changes in wave times requested by coach/team).

How are teams picked?

Each feeder decides if they will do a tryout or just place girls on teams.

tryouts may be used as an evaluation to rank and roster players on teams with similar ability players or they may be used to determine who makes the team

Each feeder also decides if they will make cuts or if they will roster every players.

A lot of times cuts have to be made due to number of coaches, gym time, etc.
If a player gets cut from their feeder, they can join the Independent Feeder, NIVA East or NIVA South as those feeders rosters every player
- players can choose whichever location is most convenient

High School Rec players do have 2 tryouts used as evaluations to rank and place girls on teams with players of similar skill sets.

Any program that has tryouts will be evaluating for overall athletic ability, volleyball skill ability, hustle and attitude.

Fees

$60 registration fee
- non-refundable
$400 season fees
- pay in full by December 17th for $25 off
- payment plan:
