Owner & Director
Adria has been involved in this volleyball community since 2004, beginning her journey with the club as a travel coach. In 2007, she took over as the Director of Travel, and by 2009, she became the Director and Owner, ushering in a new era as the organization transitioned from Shank You VBC to NIVA.
Her volleyball career began at Riley High School and continued at Indiana University as an undergraduate student-athlete. She played her freshman year until knee injuries kept her from the court. She continued to work with the team and coaches in other capacities all 4 years.
After graduation, Adria taught kindergarten in Elkhart for 5 years. During that time, she played the beach circuit and women’s indoor, which led to a position at Lewis University, where she completed her master’s degree in education and finished her playing eligibility. Competing at both Big Ten and high-level Division II programs has given Adria a unique perspective and deep understanding of what it takes for athletes to succeed at the collegiate level.
Adria’s coaching career started while teaching, leading a 5th and 6th grade team at Feeser Elementary School. Her passion quickly led her to the local club scene in Elkhart, and she’s never looked back. Over the years, she has played a significant role in developing numerous athletes who have gone on to play collegiate volleyball across all divisions.
Standout accomplishments under Adria’s leadership include:
-
1st place at the Mideast Qualifier (out of 128 teams)
-
1st place at the Red Rock National Qualifier (17s team playing up in 18s, out of 200 teams)
-

-

Adria also coached NIVA’s first-ever All-Americans and has now coached four players who have received that honor.
As the Owner and Director of NIVA, Adria manages all aspects of the club’s operations, including girls’ travel teams, high school feeder programs, fundraisers, power leagues, memberships, communications, social media, and overall club functionality. Her leadership, experience, and dedication have made NIVA a powerhouse in the Midwest volleyball scene.
