Boys Travel FAQ

Who should consider Boys Travel?
Boys Travel is for athletes who want more practices, advanced coaching, and a competitive tournament experience.
How are teams decided?
Teams are selected through open tryouts. Evaluators consider position, skill, athleticism, effort, attitude, and team-composition needs.
When does the season begin?
Registration opens August 1st, tryouts are August 30th, practices begin September 8th, and tournaments begin in October
When will team decisions be communicated?
Team emails are sent Tuesday, September 1. Acceptance and the first payment are due Thursday, September 3.
What is included in fees?
Fees include player and coach AAU and JVA insurance, practice time, tournament entry fees, coach pay and travel, equipment, mental health training, video and statistical analysis, and recruiting services for 15–18U athletes.
What additional expenses should families expect?
The required uniform package is $262. Families are also responsible for personal tournament travel, lodging, meals, and parking when applicable.
When will tournament details be available?
Exact playing schedules are usually released closer to each event. NIVA will communicate team-specific arrival, hotel, and schedule information as it becomes available.
