VOLLEY BUDS/SPROUTS

Ages 3.5 through 2nd Grade

Volley Buds & Sprouts

Phase 1

Volley Buds

3.5 to Pre-K

Our program is designed to help 3.5 to Pre-K athletes develop fundamental motor skills, build strong muscles, and begin practicing hand-eye coordination. While it incorporates elements of volleyball, it is not strictly a volleyball program. It is an ideal introduction to all athletics.

Niva Volley Buds encourages children to enjoy being active, gain confidence in sports, and prepare for the next level of athletic participation.

Phase 2

Volley Sprouts

K to 2nd Grade

Niva Volley Sprouts is the perfect way for K to 2nd graders to jump into volleyball with excitement! This fun, affordable program gives young players the chance to learn, grow, and build confidence, without the pressure of a competitive team setting.

We will focus on the key fundamentals, boost basic skills, and keep the energy high in our upbeat Niva environment. With enthusiastic coaches and tons of positive vibes, your young athlete will have a blast while picking up solid volleyball skills.

NIVA MINIS

Player Development Pathway

NIVA Minis

Phase 3

NIVA Minis is the next step in our player development pathway and serves as Phase 3 of the NIVA system.

Unlike Sprouts (Phase 2), which focuses primarily on motor learning skills with light volleyball instruction and no gameplay, NIVA Minis is a more instructional, volleyball-focused program.

In NIVA Minis:

  • Sessions are 1 hour and 15 minutes long
  • Athletes are taught every fundamental skill of volleyball
    • Passing
    • Setting
    • Serving
    • Attacking
    • Defense
  • Players also begin learning the rules of the game
  • Instruction is more structured and intentional, preparing athletes for future gameplay-based programs

Overall, NIVA Minis bridges the gap between basic motor development and full volleyball play, giving athletes a strong technical and foundational understanding of the sport.
