Tyler brings over a decade of coaching and club volleyball experience to the NIVA leadership team. His deep passion for the game, paired with a broad range of experience across both indoor and beach volleyball, makes him a dynamic addition to the club’s administration and coaching staff.
As a student-athlete, Tyler played for Team Pineapple Boys Club and continued his career on the collegiate club team at Florida Gulf Coast University. His love for the game quickly translated into coaching, and in 2014, he began what would become a highly successful coaching career.
From 2015–2018, Tyler coached at Leo High School, while also joining the staff at Empowered Volleyball Club, where he made a significant impact. While at Empowered:
-
He led their 16s team to the club’s first-ever USAV National Championship
-
Served as Assistant Director, leading programs for 15–18s
-
Directed the Pro Beach Juniors Program, which produced Indiana’s first-ever beach volleyball college commit
Tyler’s own playing career extended onto the sand and court alike. He competed on the AVP Beach Circuit from 2016–2022, earned his B-CAP (Beach Coaching Accreditation Program) certification, and played from 2017–2024 with Team Pineapple’s Men’s Semi-Pro Team.
Most recently, Tyler served as the Assistant Coach at Manchester University, where he helped guide the Spartans to their first-ever conference finals appearance—a historic achievement for the program. He now steps down from that collegiate role to take on his new position with NIVA.
At NIVA, Tyler will oversee:
-
Spring and summer programming
-
Camps, clinics, and private lessons
-
NIVA Beach and Boys programs
-
Coaching NIVA 16 Purple
Tyler’s diverse experience, championship pedigree, and energy for the game make him a valuable leader and mentor for NIVA athletes across all levels and disciplines.
