PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
Emily comes from a volleyball family and has been playing the game since before she can remember! Emily played for Triangle Volleyball Club in Raleigh, NC for eight years before finding her collegiate home at Villanova University. A four-year NCAA Division 1 student-athlete, Emily served as a setter, defensive specialist, and utility player for the Wildcats.
COACHING EXPERIENCE:
With over eight years of coaching experience, Emily brings deep knowledge, creative energy, and a genuine love for the game. She has coached student-athletes across a wide range of ages and levels – from 13U to 16U to 18U – in Raleigh, Chicago, and San Jose. Emily has also been part of the coaching staff at Villanova, UNC Chapel Hill, Stanford, and USC Women’s Volleyball summer camps, where she helped train and inspire elite-level players. She has designed and led specialized training sessions including AP Setting, Dig Your Guts Out, Power Core Attacking, and Volley Tots – all aimed at developing athletes’ skills, confidence, and volleyball IQ. This is Emily’s first year with NIVA and we are happy to have her!
PERSONAL:
Originally from the Bay Area, Emily grew up in Raleigh, moved to Philadelphia for college, taught in Chicago, and now calls South Bend home! She earned her Master of Education from the University of Notre Dame through the ACE Teaching Fellows program while teaching high school on Chicago’s southwest side. She now returns to Notre Dame to supervise and support young educators across the country. Whether in the classroom or on the court, Emily is passionate about building strong teams, empowering young people, and helping others grow into their full potential.
